One Transit Fits All ~ 8 Sept 2016

Basically, between now and next September, one transit fits all. Anyone born after 1927 with Eris in Aries in their natal chart will have at least one opposition from Jupiter in Libra to Eris in Aries. Everyone. At least one transit... and up to three.

Now those born between 1922 and 1927 likely had a transit from Jupiter in Virgo to natal Eris in Pisces in the past weeks. Those born 1900 or after had a Jupiter to Eris opposition sometime since January of this year.

If you were born with Eris in earlier Aries, say before the 13th degree of Aries or before 1972, you’ll have a single opposition from Jupiter. If you were born 1972 - 1977 will have one to three Jupiter opposite Eris aspects, and after 1977 most everyone will have three Jupiter transits, up to those born in 2015 to the present.

Realizing the above intervals can be head scratching, it’s great that Jupiter leaves Virgo for Libra today. With that passage it’s easiest to ask someone to help you get your chart with Eris in it - most astrological software these days can do that - or add Eris to your software to check transit dates. Or even simpler, book a consultation. We’ll get the dates and the Eris transit(s) way more than adequately covered.

A fascinating irony exists in the transit of Jupiter to natal Eris. Within 18 months of time, everyone on Earth shares the same celestial stimulus. Mythologically, Eris was shunned, mostly because of her own doing. But she never felt like she belonged or fit in. She loved to cause mayhem wherever she went, so she was crossed off most lists to get behind the velvet rope. The exclusion annoyed her and the energy she invested into disruption increased. Simply, the issue of perceived rejection and feelings of being shut out and opposed is something everyone must contend with during the next year and a half of time.

The Jupiter to Eris transit gives everyone a dab of the ugly duckling feeling. Not being part of the cliché or entourage, not been selected, elected, having an application for membership rejected, being unfriended or uninvited all demonstrate real word event manifestations that rile Eris.

Looking further, Eris is closest to the Sun in Libra, where Jupiter now transits. Innately Eris possesses a strong regard for social circles and more, desire for inclusion in them. She wants to rub elbows with the golden people... hell, she wants to be favored by those people. So much so, when she was not invited to the wedding of the millennium back in her day, she rolled a golden apple to the feet of the goddesses in attendance. Then, to put salve on her snub, she gleefully observed the following catfight for possession of the fateful golden apple and shed no tears when this action knocked down more stacked dominoes, leading to the Trojan War.

Often when enjoying a baseball game, I have thought of balls flying into the stands as modern golden apples on a symbolic scale. The way fans scramble, tumble and worse, to stand in front of the camera with a ball held victoriously above their head, is actually a bit head-scratching, too. However, while watching a recent game, I saw the influence of Jupiter in Libra. Two young boys were running as closed to the field as they could every half inning when a player casually tosses the last ball in play to a fan. One of the boys, a bit older, had a glove. The younger did not. The older had already received favor by snagging a ball. As the game waned, the younger player still had no baseball trophy to covet. At the very end of the game a ball was tossed the direction of the boys. The older, gloved boy made the grab, then, gave the ball to the younger boy. If you got yours, or enough, spread the good around.

There’s an economic factor to Eris as well. Her node is in Taurus. One the high side, no one should be excluded from economic opportunity, sufficient food or shelter. On the low side, who are these people wanting entitlements from what I gobbled up? She represents the battle between benevolence-generosity and covetousness-greed.

Curiously, or perhaps ironically, Jupiter is closest to the Sun in Aries, opposite the orbital parameters of Eris. Equally curious, Jupiter, though wary of Eris’ reputation, dispatched her to aid him in correcting what he believed to be a political wrong. Both presidential candidates in the U.S. election will have Jupiter transit their natal Eris between October 7 - 12. October surprise, anyone?

Regardless, there is sanction from Jupiter to Eris. During the opposing transit, Jupiter strives for diplomacy, cooperation and consideration while Eris in Aries seeks to secure what one wants. Get yours, then share - presumably there’s enough to go around. While you’re getting yours, be nice about it. Despite the reputation of the movie business to be excessively ego-driven, there is the operation film industry axiom that reports, “Be nice to everyone. Later, when you end up working together, a cooperative team can be built.” Then the only drama involved is the stuff that ends up on the screen.

Okay fine, but what does the transit of Jupiter in Libra to my personal Eris in Aries mean to me? Glad you asked.

First, it is about Aries. Be strong within yourself. Be confident and cool when questing to achieve great things and fulfill your goals. Be so self-assured that you realize no one - absolutely no one can take away that which your karma intends to achieve - and no one - absolutely no one is in competition with you.

Second, do Taurus diligence. Figure out what you want, how much of that want you actually need, and stay within the margin your soul’s needs. No need to be a trillionarie, if being an eleven-figure billionaire will do. No need to aspire to get “stuff” to upgrade your social status. It won’t work the way you think it will.

Third, figure out where you belong. Shed any activity that does not support the goals of the mission of this incarnation. Cancel memberships in organizations that are willing to take your money and only give a newsletter that you rarely read and offer no real world benefits. Evaluate your country club renewal. Reevaluate what social media does for you. If social media eats your time without appreciable gain in life, well... you don’t have to unfriend anyone... just cancel the useless account.

Above and beyond, engage in and align with only those things that cause your soul to soar. Such questing induces happiness and passion fir life. There’s a theory circulating that happy, creatively passionate people cooperate more and play nicer in the sand box. Ironically, everyone on Earth offers a data point or three to that theory in the next year or so, whether they want to or not.
